Science Studies Lab provides access to the following datasets:

Web of Science raw data (XML) - is a metadata extract of the Web of Science Database and includes over 12,500 journals from around the world in over 250 Science, Social Science and Humanities disciplines. Conference proceedings and book data are also included. Data currently include over 63 million article records and 1 billion cited references. For more information visit the dedicated Web of Science page. Our Web of Science Raw Data includes:

PATSTAT Global (CSV) - contains bibliographical data relating to more than 100 million patent documents from leading industrialised and developing countries. The database is distributed by European Patent Office. PATSTAT Global database is designed for the purpose of statistical analysis. For more information visit the dedicated EPO page. Science Studies Lab currently has the following database edition: "PATSTAT Global 2023- single edition (Autumn)".

Air Traffic by Fligt Stage (XLSX) - contains annual traffic on-board aircraft on individual flight stages of international scheduled services. The data, classified by international flight stage, shows for each air carrier and aircraft type used, the number of flights operated, the aircraft capacity offered and the traffic (passengers, freight and mail) carried. The database is distributed by International Civil Aviation Organization. For more information visit the dedicated ICAO page. Science Studies Lab currently has the ATFS data coverage from 1989 to 2020.

Intended use and restrictions

The Web of Science Raw Data (XML), PATSTAT Global (CSV), and Air Traffic by Fligt Stage (XLSX) are intended for academic study, research, teaching and administrative use at the University of Warsaw. The data access is restricted to University of Warsaw faculty, students, researchers and staff. It is strictly forbidden to use this dataset or derivatives for commercial use. Distribution of this data, or derivatives, is prohibited.
